Overview

The Oakland Cubs is a youth running club made up of runners ages 4 through 12th grade. It was started by a mom and former collegiate D1 runner, Andrea Johnson. Practices and races are determined by age and are always age appropriate. The mission of the club is for youth to learn about running as a sport, but also enjoy themselves and have fun. Runners learn form and technique and compete against other clubs. Just want to run for health? No problem, no runner is ever forced to compete!
In the Fall runners learn and compete in Cross Country (distance, hills, endurance, etc.) and in the Spring runners learn about different distances and events and compete in Track and Field meets. All runners are encourage to participate in meets and events if they wish.
